With Every End, There Is A New Beginning

Dezembro 9, 2021 by Natacha

So we have reached another end to a year. Some have experienced difficult challenges, losses, and pressures. Some may have had opportunities, successes, and a smooth-running year.

Something I came across this year 2021, is Resilience (read the article written on Resilience). http://www.practicalparenting.co.za/2020/08/26/resilience-bouncing-back/.

We managed another year with Covid and its’ variants. What you didn’t realise in your survival mode was that you were coping in the best way possible or the best way you knew how. You had your struggles and oppositions. You were confronted with frightening events. But you are Here Today!

So let us move forward and not hold back or feel defeated. You can grab the bull by the horns….hang ten and let the “wave” take you into the new year. Because now….. you are much more than what you were before…. stronger; informed; knowledgeable; experienced; healthier; driven; empowered.

Take what you’ve learned and experienced and move forward, it can only get better.

Sure, we can take Forrest Gump’s phrase of: “Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you gonna get”. So true, right? There will always be something unexpected or different in your life, which you may or may not like. So what I explain to the parents and children in sessions, life is like the Four Seasons:

  • Spring: Imagine a tree in Spring, the tiny light green leaves and the buds starting their lives, fresh and green and soft and gentle. The leaves are new. The leaves are young. The beginning of life.
  • Summer: Now imagine the tree with a full amount of leaves. Darker green, stronger and doing a good job of providing shade and shelter.
  • Autumn: Now the leaves on the tree start to change colour, showing it’s brilliance and beauty of colour and form of the tree. The leaves are not as strong. They start to fall off the branches of the tree, nourishing the ground with sufficient nutrients for others to grow.
  • Winter: The tree has no leaves. The tree is bare. The tree has not got sufficient energy to keep the leaves strong and has to take care of itself. It may look sad and empty but is able to bear the winter in order for the new generation of leaves to arrive. The old has made space for the new.

And so life continues…..With Every End There Is A New Beginning…

So take your challenges, trials, and tribulations, learn from them; grow from them and move on.
